SLB’s Vice President for Renewables and Energy Efficiency, Irlan Amir, highlighted that collaboration with clients like Star Energy Geothermal is key to advancing geothermal technology. He stated that SLB’s innovative technologies are designed to reduce risks associated with large-scale geothermal projects and improve overall project economics, making geothermal energy more viable as a clean and flexible energy source.

In previous collaborations, SLB and Star Energy Geothermal have successfully integrated artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize well placement and improve drilling efficiency, further enhancing the overall economics of geothermal energy development. The ongoing focus will be on developing and implementing technologies related to subsurface characterization, drilling techniques, and energy production from geothermal assets.

Looking ahead, BREN has also announced plans to increase its geothermal power capacity by 41 MW in 2025, bringing its total geothermal installed capacity to 907 MW. This expansion is expected to contribute to the company’s growth prospects and future revenue generation, strengthening its position in the renewable energy sector. (Uki Ruknuddin)
