BRAZIL, RAKYAT NEWS- At the G20 summit in Brazil on July 26, 2024, Indonesian Minister of Labour and Manpower, Ida Fauziyah, emphasized the importance of using technology to foster inclusive, sustainable, and resilient employment opportunities.

Minister Fauziyah highlighted that technology is a powerful tool for transformation, advocating for its use to create inclusive environments where vulnerable groups, including people with disabilities, can fully participate in the workforce.

“By working together, we can ensure that the benefits of progress are accessible to everyone,” Ida Fauziyah stated.

She underscored Indonesia’s commitment to the G20 Principles for Disability Inclusion in the Labor Market, which aim to provide fair access to decent work for people with disabilities. “We are dedicated to implementing these principles to ensure equitable job opportunities for all,” she added.

Shw also addressed the role of technology in addressing climate change and facilitating a fair transition. She urged G20 nations to prioritize worker safety and health amid technological advancements. “It is crucial that our transition does not compromise the safety and health of our workforce,” she noted.

The Minister stressed the need for a gender perspective in discussions about technology and labor to ensure equal access to technology and training for women.

“Inclusive policies and regulations will help us fully leverage our human resources, promote gender equality, and empower women across all sectors,” she said.

Under Indonesia’s G20 presidency, significant progress has been made, including community-based vocational training initiatives aimed at fostering inclusive and sustainable growth. Fauziyah highlighted that these initiatives provide skill training at the community level, ensuring that all individuals, regardless of gender, can contribute to and benefit from economic growth.
