Indonesia Launches ElevAIte Program to Train 1 Million in AI Skills by 2025
Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Hafid, stressed the need for a wise and inclusive approach to technology, especially AI, which is influencing every aspect of life. “Modern technologies like AI demand us, especially leaders, to be wiser, more patient, and accommodating,” she stated. Hafid emphasized the dual nature of AI—its immense potential to enhance quality of life and the challenges it poses if not managed carefully.
The five pillars of ElevAIte Indonesia target diverse sectors: AI training for civil servants to improve public services, AI integration for SMEs and large enterprises, revolutionizing education through AI for both teachers and students, empowering marginalized communities like women and individuals with disabilities, and democratizing AI access through Microsoft’s AI Skills Navigator.
This initiative also aligns with Indonesia’s broader goals of boosting global competitiveness and achieving Indonesia Emas 2045. By equipping its young generation and workforce with relevant AI skills, the nation is preparing for a future where AI becomes a critical driver of economic and social transformation.
ElevAIte Indonesia is not just a program; it is a transformative movement that redefines how AI technology can contribute to a nation’s development, ensuring inclusivity and responsible implementation at its core.(Uki Ruknuddin)
