The three-story KIA Building is part of six similar projects across Indonesia funded by IDB. Mustika emphasized the facility’s role in addressing high maternal and infant mortality rates in Indonesia, which remain elevated compared to other ASEAN countries. The new facility is expected to play a significant role in reducing these rates by providing specialized care.

President Jokowi expressed his support for the enhanced healthcare services these new facilities represent, which are designed to improve access to and quality of maternal and child care. This initiative is a crucial step in addressing Indonesia’s healthcare challenges.

The establishment of these new healthcare facilities, supported by IDB and other partners, is expected to significantly improve healthcare services and meet critical health needs in Makassar and beyond. (Uki Ruknuddin)
