The parliamentary forum, inaugurated by DPR RI Chair Puan Maharani, highlighted the need for Indonesia-Africa parliamentary cooperation to map out future collaborations. Maharani underscored the significance of Africa’s Agenda 2063, describing it as a blueprint for transforming Africa into a major global force. She affirmed Indonesia’s readiness to partner with Africa, noting Indonesia’s potential to become the world’s fourth-largest economy by 2050.

According to the African Development Bank, Africa is the world’s second-fastest-growing continent, with economic growth projected at 3.7% in 2024 and 4.3% in 2025, in line with Indonesia’s anticipated growth of 5.3% in 2024 and 5.2% in 2025. Maharani highlighted potential areas for cooperation, including renewable energy development, food security, and digital economy advancements. (Uki Ruknuddin)
