BALI, RAKYAT NEWS— The Indonesia-Africa Forum (IAF) 2024, a landmark event aimed at strengthening ties between Indonesia and Africa, is set to take place in Nusa Dua, Bali, from September 1–3.

This second iteration of the forum is designed to be more than just a gathering of ideas; it is a platform where those ideas will be transformed into actionable plans, driving real change across both regions.

With a focus on key sectors such as economic transformation, energy and mining, food security, health, and development cooperation, the forum is poised to deliver agreements that can be implemented and have a tangible impact. Indonesia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pahala Nugraha Manshury, emphasized that the IAF is not merely about dialogue but about achieving concrete results.

“For both the private sector and state-owned enterprises, we anticipate agreements valued at approximately USD 3.5 billion, or around IDR 58 trillion,” Manshury stated on Thursday (August 29, 2024) in Jakarta.

“We hope this forum will go beyond discussions, leading to concrete plans that will harness the vast potential between Indonesia and Africa.”

Rwanda’s first Ambassador to Indonesia, Abdul Karim Harerimana, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the forum’s role as a platform for exchanging ideas to tackle development challenges.

President Paul Kagame of Rwanda is set to speak at the event, sharing insights from Rwanda’s experiences in strengthening international development cooperation, further bolstering the relationship between Indonesia and African nations.

“President Kagame’s presence, along with other African leaders, is expected to deepen bilateral and multilateral relationships, opening doors for closer and more beneficial collaborations,” said Ambassador Harerimana.
