SUMATRA, RAKYAT NEWS – The South Sumatra provincial government and Chinese company Tebian Electric Apparatus (TBEA) Co., Ltd. have signed an agreement to develop a 300-megawatt (MW) solar power plant.

The agreement was formalized on August 21, 2024, in Palembang, with South Sumatra Acting Governor Elen Setiadi and TBEA’s Marketing Director Alex Chen Chuan overseeing the signing.

Acting Governor Elen Setiadi highlighted that this partnership represents a significant advancement for South Sumatra in harnessing renewable energy and promoting clean energy development. This project aligns with the province’s efforts to boost sustainable energy solutions.

This collaboration is not TBEA’s first venture in Indonesia. Last October, TBEA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) to collaborate on research, development, and manufacturing of electrical equipment, as well as electricity infrastructure.

The partnership includes various renewable energy projects such as solar power, hydroelectric power, wind power, pumped-storage hydroelectric power, and hydrogen power across Indonesia. (Uki Ruknuddin)
