BANDUNG, RAKYAT NEWS— The Provincial Government of West Java (Pemprov Jabar) has teamed up with the British Embassy in Indonesia and Timor-Leste to develop the creative economy sector, aiming to strengthen innovation, enhance competitiveness, and create new opportunities for industry players.

Acting Governor of West Java, Bey Machmudin, emphasized that the United Kingdom is among the countries that have successfully driven their creative economy sector.

“Why collaborate with the UK? Because they are a country that has succeeded in the creative economy sector. We know that Bandung has a lot of creative activities that need to be developed,” Bey said in Bandung, West Java

Bey highlighted that diplomacy in this field is also part of efforts to introduce the culture and creative economy players of West Java.

“Hopefully, the collaboration and ideas generated here will continue and develop to drive the economy,” he added.

Bey further mentioned that the West Java government is actively promoting creative industries, particularly in applications, games, and animation, in collaboration with the UK, which is expected to support locally produced works.

“This event is mutually beneficial, and we are very pleased,” Bey remarked.

Meanwhile, British Ambassador to Indonesia and Timor-Leste, Dominic Jermey, expressed his enthusiasm about the day’s meeting.

He noted that there are many creative arts and economic ideas and ambitions that can be found in West Java.

“To date, the UK has supported and collaborated with 20 creative arts initiatives in West Java. We are also committed to producing good public policies for the creative industries in West Java,” Dominic stated.
