JAKARTA, RAKYAT NEWS- Indonesia’s Ministry of Youth and Sports has announced the country’s readiness to host several prestigious international championships in 2025.

Following a high-level internal meeting with President Joko Widodo at the Presidential Palace Complex, Minister Dito Ariotedjo expressed Indonesia’s commitment to welcoming the world’s best athletes and fans.

Minister Dito highlighted the lineup of events, which include the World Surf League across seven locations including Bali and Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara, the Gymnastics World Championships in Jakarta, and the World Relly Championship in North Sumatra.

“Indonesia is set to host the inaugural Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in 2025, following a successful visit by UFC officials in late 2023,” he stated.

He also emphasized ongoing commitments such as the MotoGP in Mandalika, Aquabike, Power Boat races in Lake Toba, and the upcoming MXGP event next year.

“Furthermore, Indonesia is prepared to host the World Abilitysport Games 2025, akin to the Paralympics, showcasing wheelchair-bound athletes from around the globe,” Dito added.

The announcement underscores Indonesia’s growing stature as a premier destination for international sports events, promising an exciting calendar ahead in 2025. (Uki Ruknuddin)
