Joining the closed-door talks were high-ranking Indonesian officials such as State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. According to Yusuf Permana, Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media at the Presidential Secretariat, the discussions focused on key strategic topics and ongoing bilateral agendas.
Permana noted that Manturov’s visit is part of a broader initiative to reaffirm and expand the strong ties between Indonesia and Russia. He described the meeting as a milestone in the two countries’ diplomatic relations, aimed at fostering mutually beneficial cooperation across various sectors.
The meeting with the Russian deputy prime minister comes shortly after President Prabowo returned from an extensive six-day diplomatic tour of the Middle East, during which he visited the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Egypt, Qatar, and Jordan. That trip focused on building partnerships in economic and political arenas and included discussions on the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
Earlier in the day, President Prabowo landed at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta, where he was greeted by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, senior ministers, and top military officials. After a brief exchange with the welcoming delegation, the President headed directly to the Merdeka Palace to receive Manturov.
