JAVA, RAKYAT NEWS – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto hosted Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Istana Bogor (Bogor Palace) for an official state visit

The visit was marked by a ceremonial welcome, discussions on strategic issues, and the signing of key documents aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.

The welcoming ceremony began at 11:00 AM, with the national anthems of both countries being played. A cannon salute was fired in honor of President Erdogan, and a formal inspection of the troops followed. Over 1,000 soldiers participated in the ceremony, and 75 horsemen were also part of the welcoming party, symbolizing the 75 years of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Turkey.

Following the ceremony, President Prabowo and President Erdogan proceeded to a private meeting, where they engaged in talks on various strategic matters. The leaders discussed cooperation in areas such as trade, defense, and regional security, with both expressing interest in further strengthening bilateral relations.

A significant outcome of the meeting was the planned signing of several documents, which are expected to lay the groundwork for closer economic and diplomatic ties between Indonesia and Turkey. Both leaders emphasized the importance of mutual collaboration in addressing global challenges.

After the bilateral meeting, the two presidents held a joint press conference where they shared their discussions with the public. The press briefing highlighted the shared goals of the two countries and their commitment to advancing their partnership in various fields.

The day’s events concluded with a state luncheon hosted by President Prabowo at the Bogor Presidential Palace. The luncheon provided an opportunity for further informal discussions between the two leaders and their delegations.

The welcoming ceremony was carefully planned, with over 1,000 troops involved in the procession. Additionally, local schoolchildren were invited to witness the event, making it a community celebration. The horsemen in the ceremony represented the long-standing friendship between Indonesia and Turkey, with the number 75 symbolizing the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

President Erdogan’s visit was brief, and he was expected to return to Turkey later in the day. While the details of his departure were not fully disclosed, it was not confirmed whether President Prabowo would accompany him to the airport, as was the case during Erdogan’s arrival the previous day.
