Bank Mega’s Deputy President Director Lay Diza Larentie Steps Down After Nearly a Decade

JAKARTA, RAKYAT NEWS – Lay Diza Larentie, the Deputy President Director of PT Bank Mega Tbk (MEGA), has decided to step down from her position. Her resignation letter was submitted on January 14, 2025.
According to the company’s official statement on January 16, 2025, Lay Diza Larentie was appointed as Deputy President Director of Bank Mega, overseeing the Consumer Banking & Credit division, following a decision by the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on February 24, 2023, which took effect on June 12, 2023.
Before being promoted to Deputy President Director, Lay Diza Larentie served as a director at Bank Mega. She was appointed to this role during the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on May 7, 2015, with the appointment taking effect on December 30, 2015.
Throughout her tenure, the Jakarta-born executive, who was born in 1967, focused on expanding the bank’s consumer banking and funding business.
In 2015, she was entrusted with the position of Director for Funding, and a year later, she took on the additional responsibility of Director for Funding and Network (2016-2017). From 2017 to 2018, she was appointed as Director for Funding and Sales Distribution.
Following her work in the funding segment, Lay Diza Larentie shifted to the consumer banking division, serving as Director of Consumer Banking from 2018 to 2023 before being appointed as Deputy President Director of Bank Mega.
Before joining Bank Mega, Lay Diza Larentie accumulated extensive experience in both domestic and international banking sectors. She began her banking career at PT Bank Lippo Tbk, where she joined the Management Development Program in 1990.
She later moved on to Barclays Bank in 2010 and then to Standard Chartered Bank, where she served as General Manager for Distribution and Personal Banking. From 2011 to 2012, she worked with HSBC Ltd., holding several key positions, including Senior Vice President and Acting Head of Retail Banking and Wealth Management.
After nearly a decade of service at Bank Mega, Lay Diza Larentie has chosen to resign from her role as Deputy President Director.
The bank’s management confirmed receipt of her resignation letter on January 14, 2025, according to a disclosure on the Indonesia Stock Exchange on January 16, 2025.
This marks the end of a distinguished career at Bank Mega and a significant chapter in her long tenure in the banking industry. (Uki Ruknuddin)
