JAKARTA, RAKYAT NEWS – The Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) of Indonesia, Ahmad Muzani, met with the Secretary General of the Muslim World League, Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday, December 21, 2024.

The two leaders discussed various issues related to the development of the Islamic world, peace, and humanitarian efforts.

Muzani emphasized the significant role of the Muslim World League in promoting Islam as a religion of peace and tolerance, not only within the Muslim world but also in the West. He highlighted the League’s efforts in advancing the message of Islam as “rahmatan lil alamin” (a mercy to all the worlds).

During the meeting, Muzani also shared insights about the functions of the MPR in safeguarding Indonesia’s national ideology. He underscored the importance of ensuring the welfare of the Indonesian people, particularly in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s vision for national progress and prosperity.

He further elaborated on President Prabowo’s initiative to provide nutritious food for all Indonesians, an essential component in fostering the country’s development. Muzani also highlighted the importance of developing quality human resources in Indonesia, particularly in preparation for the demographic bonus leading up to the nation’s Golden Year in 2045.

The MPR Chairman also expressed his hopes for stronger cooperation in education between Indonesia and the Muslim World League. He underscored the importance of preparing Indonesia’s youth to contribute to the country’s future growth.

In addition, Muzani mentioned the planned construction of a Museum of Prophet Muhammad in Indonesia, an initiative supported by the Muslim World League and former National Police Commissioner General (Ret.) Syafruddin Kambo. The project has already received backing from President Prabowo Subianto.
