JAKARTA, RAKYAT NEWS – President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Jakarta on Sunday, November 24, 2024, after completing a series of state visits to six countries.

His trip, which lasted from November 8 to 23, was part of his diplomatic and investment outreach aimed at fostering economic cooperation with various global leaders.

Upon his arrival at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport at 5:30 AM local time, President Prabowo was warmly welcomed by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. Several key Cabinet members, including Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Budi Gunawan, Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo, also attended the welcoming ceremony.

During his six-nation tour, Prabowo visited China, the United States, Peru, Brazil, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates. His diplomatic journey included meetings with prominent leaders such as Chinese President Xi Jinping, U.S. President Joe Biden, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, among others. These meetings were instrumental in securing various investment agreements for Indonesia.

The most significant outcome of Prabowo’s travels was the commitment of foreign investors to invest a total of $18.57 billion (approximately IDR 298 trillion), based on the exchange rate of IDR 15,880 per US dollar. These investments are expected to have a wide-reaching impact on several key sectors in Indonesia, including food security, healthcare, technology, and energy.

In addition to these investments, the President’s visit to international summits such as the APEC Summit in Peru and the G20 Summit in Brazil helped solidify Indonesia’s role in global discussions on economic and environmental sustainability. At these events, Prabowo advocated for Indonesia’s economic interests and strengthened ties with major world economies.

One of the highlights of the trip was Prabowo’s meeting with British officials, where he secured an investment commitment of IDR 111 trillion. This deal, involving major energy projects, is expected to boost Indonesia’s energy sector and contribute to job creation and technological advancements.

Prabowo also held talks with the leadership of the UAE, which has expressed interest in strengthening economic ties with Indonesia. These discussions focused on investments in various sectors such as renewable energy and infrastructure, which are seen as pivotal for Indonesia’s long-term growth and sustainability.

In the coming months, Indonesia will likely see the fruits of these diplomatic engagements as the various investments begin to materialize. The government’s focus on strengthening international relations and attracting foreign capital is seen as key to sustaining the nation’s economic development and achieving its long-term goals.

The successful completion of this diplomatic mission underscores the importance of global partnerships in today’s interconnected world. Prabowo’s leadership in securing these investment deals highlights Indonesia’s growing influence on the world stage and its potential to become a leading economic power in the region.(Uki Ruknuddin)
