This visit to Peru is part of a broader 16-day overseas tour by President Prabowo, which began on November 8, 2024. Prior to arriving in Peru, the president made stops in China and the United States, where he met with leaders from both countries to discuss areas of mutual interest, including trade, defense, and regional stability.

After completing his engagements at the APEC Summit, President Prabowo will travel to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to attend the G20 Summit, which will take place from November 18-19, 2024. The G20 Summit is another crucial forum where global leaders will discuss the future of the world economy, climate change, and international cooperation in tackling global challenges.

President Prabowo’s diplomatic tour will also include a visit to the United Kingdom. During his stop, he is expected to meet with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and King Charles. These meetings will focus on enhancing bilateral ties between Indonesia and the United Kingdom, particularly in trade, investment, and defense.

Before returning to Indonesia, President Prabowo may make a brief stopover in several Middle Eastern countries as part of his ongoing diplomatic outreach. His visits are part of Indonesia’s broader efforts to strengthen its global partnerships and position itself as a key player in regional and international diplomacy. (Uki Ruknuddin)
