BORNEO, RAKYAT NEWS — Central Kalimantan (Borne) Governor Sugianto Sabran has initiated a program to send a select group of 100 citizens on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. This initiative is part of broader efforts to enhance religious development in the region and strengthen community ties.

On Friday, October 25, Assistant for Economic and Development Affairs, Sri Widanarni, represented the governor during the send-off ceremony for the first wave of the Holyland contingent. The pilgrimage is scheduled to take place from November 2 to November 12, 2024, providing an opportunity for spiritual enrichment.

Widanarni expressed that the pilgrimage is a significant occasion for the Christian community in Central Kalimantan. “This year, the provincial government is pleased to facilitate this journey for 100 participants, marking a long-awaited opportunity for many,” she stated.

She emphasized the importance of preparation for the journey, encouraging participants to engage with one another as part of a larger spiritual family. Widanarni noted that the pilgrimage goes beyond mere ritual; it is an opportunity for personal transformation and carries the responsibility of representing Indonesia positively.

Participants were urged to demonstrate good conduct, courtesy, and hospitality to fellow pilgrims from other countries. “It is essential to show respect and kindness during this journey,” Widanarni added.

Health and well-being were also key concerns. Participants were advised to monitor their health closely and communicate any issues with healthcare officials accompanying them. This precaution is vital to ensure that everyone can fully participate in the planned activities.

Widanarni concluded by encouraging pilgrims to focus on their spiritual objectives, manage their time efficiently, and conserve their energy throughout the pilgrimage. The journey is designed to deepen their faith and strengthen their connections to the broader community.
