INDONESIA, RAKYAT NEWS – Renowned global investor Ray Dalio participated as a speaker in a training session for prospective ministers in Prabowo Subianto’s cabinet on October 16.

Ray Dalio is an American billionaire investor, hedge fund manager, and philanthropist, best known as the founder of Bridgewater Associates, one of the world’s largest and most successful hedge funds.

He established the firm in 1975 and is renowned for his principles-based approach to investing and management, which he outlines in his book “Principles: Life and Work.” Dalio is also known for his insights on global macroeconomic trends and has been influential in discussions about economic policy and investing strategies. In addition to his financial career, he actively engages in philanthropy and education initiatives.

Dalio’s presentation, titled “What Would I Do If I Were In Your Shoes,” was part of a two-day training program aimed at equipping future ministers with crucial insights.

The event took place at the Hambalang retreat, a venue chosen for its conducive environment for discussion and learning.

Other notable speakers included international relations scholar John Mearsheimer, who discussed global geopolitical dynamics, and Hunter Lee Soik, who focused on strategies for doubling Indonesia’s GDP within a decade. These topics were essential for the ministers to understand the broader context of their roles.

During his segment, Dalio addressed the topic “Why Nations Succeed and Fail,” offering valuable perspectives on economic policies and governance. His insights were particularly relevant for Indonesia as it seeks to strengthen its position in the global economy.
