JAKARTA, RAKYAT NEWS – The Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) is actively exploring potential defense collaboration with the Royal Brunei Air Force and the Timor-Leste Defence Force. This significant discussion occurred during the Bali International Airshow 2024, held at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center on September 17.

During the event, TNI AU Operations Commander, Air Marshal Tedi Rizali, met with Brigadier General Jose da Kosta Soares, Chief of Staff of Timor-Leste Defence Force, alongside LTC (U) Mohd Haery Erwandy Bin Haji Raya, Commander of Brunei’s Operations Group.

This gathering highlighted the commitment of all parties to strengthening regional security.

Air Marshal Tedi emphasized the necessity of enhancing air defense cooperation among Southeast Asian nations.

He articulated that such partnerships are vital for promoting stability and security within the region, especially in the face of evolving security challenges.

Tedi pointed out that the collaboration would not only bolster military capabilities but also deepen bilateral relations between the countries involved. He noted that shared interests in defense can pave the way for stronger diplomatic ties.

The planned cooperation will focus on joint training exercises and knowledge exchange in aerospace technology. These initiatives aim to ensure that participating nations can effectively respond to various security scenarios and enhance their operational readiness.

He expressed optimism that these discussions would lead to concrete actions, allowing the TNI AU and its regional counterparts to work together more effectively. He believes that collaboration is key to improving military cooperation among Southeast Asian countries.
