JAKARTA, RAKYAT NEWS – In a significant step towards enhancing bilateral media relations, the Indonesian Cyber Media Association (SMSI) and the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran have formalized their partnership with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The agreement is aimed at fostering greater media cooperation between Indonesia and Iran, paving the way for an exchange of ideas and expertise in the media sector.

Chairman of the Indonesian Cyber Media Association (SMSI) Firdaus signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mohammad Reza Ebrahimi, Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The signing ceremony took place at the Iranian Embassy office on Jalan HOS Cokroaminoto No. 110, Menteng, Jakarta, August 12/2024

The MoU was formalized with both parties exchanging signed documents, followed by a handshake and applause from attendees. Ebrahimi expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating,

“We are delighted to sign this MoU with SMSI today. We had discussed this cooperation plan a few months ago, and we are pleased to move forward with our joint efforts.”

Firdaus also expressed gratitude for the agreement, noting that the MoU marks the beginning of media cooperation between Indonesia and Iran.

“We look forward to journalist exchanges between our countries and learning from each other’s media management practices. We are prepared to host Iranian journalists and media professionals to share experiences,” Firdaus said.

Following the MoU signing, a detailed program and roadmap for cooperation will be developed. SMSI will focus on promoting Iranian culture, notable figures, and other relevant aspects.
