BORNEO, RAKYAT NEWS- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has revealed that the total investment in the development of the new capital, Nusantara, has reached Rp56.2 trillion, excluding funds from the national budget. This announcement came during the first plenary cabinet meeting held in Nusantara, East Kalimantan

In his speech, Jokowi highlighted that 55 investors have already initiated projects in Nusantara. These include six investors in the education sector, three in healthcare, ten in retail and logistics, eight in hospitality, two in energy and transportation, 14 in banking and office spaces, nine in residential and green areas, and three in media and technology.

Jokowi emphasized that the economic focus for Nusantara will be on green and digital economies, including data centers and financial hubs. He noted, “Nusantara will be a model for green and digital economies, supporting the governance of our new capital.”

Following the cabinet meeting, President Jokowi is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for infrastructure projects in the Central Government Area of Nusantara. This includes the construction of banking offices and hotels by private companies, while Vice President Ma’ruf Amin will lay the foundation for the Vice Presidential Palace.

Endra S. Atmawidjaja, Special Advisor to the Minister of Public Works and Housing (PUPR), confirmed that the Vice Presidential Palace will be located in the Eastern Axis of the Central Government Area. Additionally, the seventh phase of investor projects in Nusantara will see contributions from four domestic private investors: BCA, Swiss-Belhotel, Royal Golden Eagle, and Intiland. (Uki Ruknuddin)
