JAKARTA, RAKYAT NEWS – The Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) welcomed a courtesy call from the Defense Attaché of Brunei Darussalam, Lieutenant Colonel Pg Aeddie Masjaffrie Bin Pg Hj Md Ja’afar, on Monday, July 29, 2024, at the Air Force Headquarters in Cilangkap, East Jakarta.

The meeting, as detailed in a press release received by ANTARA, was primarily to mark the transition of the Brunei defense attaché position in Indonesia from Lt. Col. Pg Aeddie Masjaffrie Bin Pg Hj Md Ja’afar to Commander Muhammad Shahmun Azimin Bin Hj Awg Asli, Rbn.

During the meeting, Lt. Col. Aeddie Masjaffrie expressed his gratitude to the Indonesian Air Force for their collaboration during his tenure in Indonesia. He also introduced his successor, Commander Muhammad Shahmun Azimin Bin Hj Awg Asli, Rbn.

“We extend our thanks to the outgoing attaché for his efforts in fostering good relations between the Royal Brunei Air Force and the Indonesian Air Force,” said Air Marshal Jumarto, the Deputy Assistant for Intelligence of the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Air Force.

Jumarto also welcomed the new attaché and expressed hope that his presence would further strengthen the bilateral and military relations between Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam.

The Defense Attaché (Athan) is a military officer stationed at embassies, responsible for enhancing military and defense cooperation with the host country’s armed forces and Ministry of Defense. (Uki Ruknuddin)
